Today I saw 's Influence Map and thought I'd take a stab at it too. xD


--Stylistic--

いずみ由羅様/Yura Izumi ([link])
When I was first starting out, I saw Yura Izumi's CG Lecture (tutorial) on openCanvas community. I wanted to grow up to draw like her.

AIR / works by KEY
The anime where I learned that the mood and feel of an illustration is everything. To me, anyhow.

緋色の欠片/Hiiro no Kakera
My first otome game, and my intro into otome game illustration styles.

Special A/南マキ(Minami Maki)
I loved the way Minami Maki drew hair and eyes, especially those of Kei. This inspired me to start Project Cliche (initially a manga attempt), which evolved into my current visual novel project Hakumu-Genshou.

--Conceptual/Motivation--

"I want to draw the cover for my own story!"
I always enjoyed drawing, but this is the one reason why I started to take drawing seriously. In 2003, I was writing a novel (it went for 30 chapters before I gave up!) and I wanted to draw the cover for it instead of paying someone to do it for me. I was 13, trying to save money. Yeah. |D

Constant Lack of Time to Draw
My style changes a lot, and I'm pretty sure it's because I simply don't have the time to keep up a consistent style. While consistency is great, I think having the flexibility to try out new things and not just hashing out the same style over and over again allows me to improve at a much faster rate, because I forget the specifics over time and need to try out new things. Also, drawing periodically rather than constantly prevents me from getting tired of drawing and thus giving it up entirely.
*Of course, this is all my own opinion and does not necessarily apply to everyone.

Friends & kind people
I probably draw more for other people than I do for myself. Whether it be trades, gifts, or commissions, I think just the idea of making someone happy with my drawings gets me to draw. Either that, or I feel obligated, which in the end forces me to draw.

I liked FF. A lot.

Haha. Whether it be IRL, in drama, in anime, wherever, this gives me ideas to draw.

I like music. I also like the PVs that users on NicoNico Douga create.
